The historic town of Vadnagar is located in the Mehsana district of the state of Gujarat in India. The town is the headquarters of the taluka. The town is home to many historical sites. Vadnagar is the birthplace of the 15th Prime Minister of India and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Vadnagar is a town situated on a high hill. There are 6 gates around the town.

There are 6 gates around Vadnagar. This fort was built by Solanki king Kumarapala in 1853. And 6 gates were built around it. At present there are 5 gates around this fort. Each gate has a different concept. There are many beautiful sculptures on the wall of these gates.

Kirtitoran is located in Vadnagar. It is also called Vijayasthabha. There are two main historical monuments of Kirtitoranwadnagar. The arches are 13 meters high and are made of fine stone sculptures. The arches are carved out of a single stone.
This Kirti Toran is believed to have been built in the 10th century.
Lake Sharmishtha is located in Vadnagar. Lake Sharmishtha is named after Narasimha Mehta's daughter. In the past, there were beautiful palaces and temples around this lake. The water of Kapila river flows into Sharmishtha lake.

Hatkeshwar temple is built in Prashit style. The main gate of this temple is facing east. There are two other gates of this temple. One gate is in north direction and one gate is in south direction. All these gates are magnificent and decorated with fine sculptures. The whole temple of Hatkeshwar is very beautiful and delicate.
